Kitchen Tops in Burgersfort and Steelpoort
Burgersfort has grown quickly alongside the platinum and chrome mines of the Tubatse valley. New estates and rental units have gone up for people working on the mines, while established families in Praktiseer, Driekop, Steelpoort and Mecklenburg keep extending and upgrading their homes, and the farms around Ohrigstad have kitchens of their own. Meraki Granite supplies and installs granite, quartz and porcelain kitchen tops right across the Burgersfort area.
Granite from R2,400/m², quartz from R3,280/m², porcelain from R5,460/m², incl. VAT and installation. See granite, quartz and porcelain prices on our kitchen tops page.

Our nearest branch: Metz
Our closest branch is Shop 27A, Mahlakung Mall, Metz (Trichardtsdal), in Maruleng. To be upfront, it’s on the Maruleng side of the escarpment, roughly 120km and about two hours by road from Burgersfort, so most customers in the Tubatse valley find WhatsApp quicker. If you’re travelling that way, or you live around Metz, Trichardtsdal or elsewhere in Maruleng, the branch is the place to chat about colours and see the catalogue. Hours are Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00 and Saturday 08:00–13:00.
Planning a job at this distance
Burgersfort is a longer trip for us: about 160km from our Nkowankowa factory, or roughly two and a half to three hours by road, heading south over the Abel Erasmus Pass. So we like to get the details right before anyone sets off.
Start by sending a WhatsApp with photos of your kitchen and rough measurements. That lets us talk through the options and book a measuring visit. After that:
- Measure. We visit and take exact measurements of every top, cut-out and splashback.
- Make. Your tops are cut to size and polished at our Nkowankowa factory.
- Cut-outs. Back at your house, we cut and polish the openings for the sink and hob outside in the yard or garden, then clear away the dust and offcuts.
- Fit. We install your tops.
The usual timeline is about three days from measuring to installation, as on our granite kitchen tops hub. We’ll confirm dates with you up front.
Choosing your stone
Dust is part of life in a mining valley, and it settles on every flat surface. A quartz top (20 mm) is non-porous, so dust and spills come off with a damp cloth, and it needs very little upkeep, which helps if you’re working long shifts.
Granite is a hard-wearing natural stone with patterns that hide everyday marks well. It’s usually 30 mm thick, with 20 mm also available, and it handles hot pots without trouble.
Porcelain, at 12 mm, suits a modern estate kitchen or a covered entertainment area. It resists heat and UV, and its large-format designs give a clean, contemporary look.
Our Meraki Collections page shows every colour.
