Our Acornhoek branch
The nearest Meraki branch to Hoedspruit is in Acornhoek, at Shop 4A, Acornhoek Plaza, about 38km south along the R40. Come in to chat about colours, see the catalogue and start your quote. Bush homes, lodges and estates
Estates such as Raptor’s View, Blyde Wildlife Estate and Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate usually have rules on contractor access, gate times and vehicles. Mention your estate when you ask for a quote so we know its access rules before we visit.
Lodges in Klaserie, Timbavati and Balule bring a different brief: back-of-house kitchens that feed guests every day, plus outdoor bars and boma areas where people gather after a game drive. Ask us about those spaces when you request your quote.
Stone that works in the bushveld
- Porcelain, 12 mm. Heat resistant and UV resistant, which makes it the one we’d suggest for an outdoor bar or braai counter in full sun. Its large-format designs also look striking in an open-plan bush home. See porcelain.

From our Nkowankowa factory to Hoedspruit
Hoedspruit is about 105km from our factory in Nkowankowa, a drive of around an hour and three-quarters. Acornhoek is roughly 135km away, a little over two hours. The job follows three steps:
- We measure your kitchen, bar or lodge space at the property.
- We cut and polish your tops to size at the Nkowankowa factory.
- We make the sink and hob cut-outs on site, working outdoors in your garden or yard, or in a suitable outside spot at the lodge, and clean up when we’re finished.
- We install the tops, with edging and splashbacks.
It takes about three days from measure to fitting, as described on our granite kitchen tops hub. Travel is charged in rings around your nearest branch: from R900 for up to 50km, R1,800 up to 100km and R2,700 up to 150km. Beyond 150km, travel is confirmed on your quote.

We do. We have a branch in Acornhoek itself, and we measure and install in the surrounding villages just as we do in Hoedspruit.
What's best for an outdoor kitchen?
For tops that sit in the sun, porcelain is the one to look at, because it’s UV resistant and heat resistant. Granite also works well under a covered area.
